Sciara is an artisanal company founded in Bronte, in the province of Catania, on the slopes of Mount Etna. The company takes its name from the local Sicilian volcanic soil, known as 'sciara' in the local dialect, a land capable of offering breathtaking landscapes and excellent products. Founded by three young Sicilian guys, since 2011, in continuous growth, Sciara has become a nationally recognized company, strongly focused on multichannel operations, innovation, and internationalization, an active and dynamic reality, just like the volcano represented in its logo.
Sciara currently cultivates two pistachio plantations in Bronte, one of which comes from the family's heritage. The ancient pistachio plantation is a magical and fascinating place, a piece of land that has preserved family traditions for generations. These traditions include trees caring, the technique of harvesting pistachios, as well as the preparation of traditional pistachio-based recipes.
Combining the old agricultural tradition with the family's experience in the field of catering, Sciara was founded in 2011 with the aim of promoting the best of Sicilian flavors. While remaining faithful to tradition, Sciara is always open to innovation and the latest technologies, using responsible agricultural practices as much as possible and reducing the environmental impact of production.
Specialized in the production of pistachio and its derivatives, Sciara currently has an in-house team of 13 people, as well as the collaboration of selected external specialists, has an operational headquarters and a new facility under construction. Sciara products are crafted with extreme care and dedication. Every step of the production process is closely supervised and controlled to ensure compliance with the highest quality standards.

Bronte is located on the slopes of Mount Etna, nestled between the park of the same volcano and the Nebrodi Park. Its name derives from the Greek Bronth, which means thunder, but Bronte was also the name of one of the Cyclopes, sons of the god Neptune, who, in the bowels of Mount Etna, forged lightning bolts for Zeus. Renowned as "The City of Pistachio", Bronte owes the high quality of this fruit to the volcanic soil on which it grows and to the unique microclimate of the area. The city is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and offers an authentic and hospitable atmosphere, making Bronte an ideal destination for nature lovers and enthusiasts of Sicilian cuisine.
Mount Etna, with its lithological border of 250 km and an area of approximately 1,260 sq. km, is the largest active volcano in Europe. Its height, at the summit craters, reaches about 3,350 meters, but this height is highly variable over time, as its eruptive activity is not always 'constructive' but can also be 'destructive' at times with collapses and crater wall failures. Its rich eruptive history and spectacular periodic eruptions make it an important point of geological and tourist interest. Furthermore, Mount Etna represents a unique natural environment with breathtaking landscapes and fertile volcanic soil that favors the cultivation of high-quality products, such as Bronte pistachios.
